Its been some time since Platoons last played a match in the competition and after a relatively busy time, they’d be enjoying this short break. Also, they are in a pretty good position to qualify for the playoffs as they are placed fourth at the ladder with ten points to their. Their superb net run-rate of 0.572 is going to only help them if things get close towards the back-end of the league stage.
Although, the Platoons have had a terrific campaign on the whole, they too have struggled with consistency. In their last four matches, the Platoons have registered three wins, but their loss to Chattogram Challengers was too big to ignore. The Platoons were restricted to a total of just 124 and that highlighted their over-reliance on the likes of Tamim Iqbal and Anamul Haque.
In the subsequent match, against the Royals, the Platoons improved their performance with the bat as they scored a total of 174 runs batting first. Their bowlers did an even more fantastic job in restricting the potent batting lineup for Royals to a total of just 100. All in all, the Platoons got off to a poor start, but have certainly picked up pace with five wins in their last seven matches. Their reliance on Tamim Iqbal and Anamul Haque has not been hidden from anyone and the Tigers would be looking to exploit just that.
Dhaka Platoon Starting Lineup
With just two losses in the tournament thus far, the Tigers are arguably the best side of the tournament and were rightfully at the top of the ladder just one match ago. After Rajshahi Royals and Chattogram Challengers won their respective matches, they have dropped down to number three and will be looking to reacquire the top of the table.
The Tigers are coming off a couple of back to back wins, over Rangpur Rangers and Sylhet Thunder respectively. While both the sides they defeated are languishing in the bottom of the table, the wins were clinical to say the least. Against the Rangpur Rangers, they won the match by a mammoth margin of 52 runs while against the Thunder they chased down the total of 157 with more than two overs to spare and eight wickets in hand.
In the tournament on the whole, the Tigers have done a pretty good job and have been the most dominant side, atleast on the basis of net run-rate. Also, they had almost everyone perform for them in the seven matches they have played and that is certainly a positive they’ll be taking into the upcoming encounter.
